Glaucous or Iceland?

I am now thinking this is a Glaucous gull because of the colouring of the bill and the shape of the head. It certainly looks different to the Iceland gull photos that I took in January. Here are the two for comparison.

    I think its an iceland ...it doesn`t seem bulky enough for a glaucous gull

    Hi Jack, its an Iceland definately. Glaucs are big brutes the size of GBB gulls ( usually) and they have heavy pink bills with clear cut black tips. Have a look on my blog at one of the posts from early in 2008 Feb Mar or something...

    The primaries are projecting a long way behind the tail which suggests an Iceland Gull to me. Mind you I'm no expert on gulls. ;-)
