Green Sandpiper?

I was flicking through some old photos when I came across this one taken at Washington Wildfowl Centre in July 08. I think it is a green sandpiper. Can anyone confirm this? Just been out for half a hour around Red House pond in search of the kingfisher but no sign of it although we did see a goldcrest and some long-tailed tits.

  2. Yup spot on Jack. Very dark above against the white below and the eye ring is obvious. Best months are July and August. Holywell / Big Waters are the spots....

  3. Just to add to Stewart's comment, they often turn up on smaller waters and flash pools too, Woodhorn etc. Many years back we had one at 64 Squadron Pond (find that on the map!) the GS wasn't a tick but the pond was.

  4. Dissapointenly I tihnk the Kingfisher at Red House has moved on, due to the time of year and disruption by local charvs, goldcrest is a good find though, cheers cain
